The latest release from RoMa Craft, and one of the most full bodied cigars available. Skip Martin, owner of RoMa Tobac has been dreaming of making this style of cigar since 2009 when he was working on CroMagnon. The conception really came to fruition when he was introduced to a leaf from the Green River Valley of the US that was a regrowth from Pennsylvania Broadleaf called Pennsylvania Double Ligero. A regrowth leaf emerges when the leaves are cut off of a plant and a second set of leaves grows on the plant before it is removed from the ground. This leaf is added to filler blends from Nicaragua and Dominican Olor and really amps up the strength and nicotine levels. Pennsylvania Double Ligero has twice the nicotine of Ligero primings in Esteli, Nicaragua. Yet the cigar is smokable and balanced, albeit very strong. A dark and shiny Mexican San Andres Maduro wrapper, usually a warning for novice smokers, along with a US Connecticut Broadleaf binder give the cigar a strong and sweet tobacco taste on the back of the palate while spice and rich soil are the primary flavors. The tapered, pyramid shape intensifies the flavors and strength as the cigar is smoked and the rich tars of the Pennsylvania Double Ligero build up. Be warned, this cigar is not for amateurs.
