| Avo Cigars AVO Syncro Nicaragua Swiss conglomerate Oettinger Davidoff AG continues to make investments in cultivating tobaccos outside of the Dominican Republic. Its Avo brand, the brainchild of composer Avo Uvezian and Master Blender Henke Kelner, has been renowned for decades as a consistent, well-constructed balanced Dominican filled cigars. After the 2015 Limited Edition Avo Covers incorporated Nicaraguan leaves in its filler blends, Avo is introducing a new regular production line called Avo Syncro Nicaragua that contains Nicaraguan tobacco in its filler. Like other Avo Cigars, the Avo Syncro Nicaragua has a balanced profile, however it is medium to full in body. The Avo Syncro Nicaragua incorporates diverse flavors in its filler blend from tobaccos sourced from the volcanic Ometepe island, Nicaragua, Peru (Olancho), and the Dominican Republic (Piloto, San Vicente Mejorado and hybrid Olor/Piloto). The binder is Dominican and the wrapper is a gorgeous, oily, and very dark, practically colorado, Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed. The blend is described as delivering “a cigar with Nicaraguan fire, Dominican flair, and a world of stories.” The name “Syncro” is a play on the theme of “synchronization” in music. In this case, it refers to the synchronization of the Dominican and Nicaraguan cigar experience.

The Avo Syncro Nicaragua is rolled at Davidoff’s Tabadom factory in Santiago, Dominican Republic. It is offered in four sizes: Short Robusto (4 x 52), Robusto (5 x 50), Toro (6 x 54) and Special Toro (6 x 60). Each cigar is box-pressed, another departure from Avo’s traditional parejos.
