Padron FAQs

Where are Padron cigars made?

Padron cigars are made in Estelí, Nicaragua, by the Padron family. José Orlando Padron founded the company in Miami in 1964 after leaving Cuba, and the family still owns and runs it today.

Are Padron cigars Nicaraguan puros?

Yes. Padron cigars use Nicaraguan tobacco for the wrapper, binder and filler, and most lines come in both a natural and a maduro wrapper.

What is the difference between the Padron Series, 1964 Anniversary and 1926 Serie?

The classic Padron Series is aged for about two and a half years and is the brand's everyday smoke. The 1964 Anniversary Series uses tobacco aged around four years, and the 1926 Serie uses tobacco aged around five years for a richer, more complex smoke.

How strong are Padron cigars?

Most Padron cigars are medium to full bodied, with deep, earthy and cocoa notes, especially in the maduro wrappers. They're smooth for their strength, which is why many smokers move up to Padron after a few milder cigars.

How should I store cigars?

Keep cigars in a humidor at around 65–70% humidity and 65–70°F. Cigars that dry out burn hot and taste harsh, and too much humidity causes uneven burns and mold. If you don't have a humidor yet, an airtight container with a two-way humidity pack works well for a few weeks.
