Herrera Esteli Norteno

Willy Herrera's second blend with Drew Estate as a Master Blender, the Norteno showcases aged Nicaraguan tobaccos of the Esteli and Jalapa growing regions, with a Honduran binder, and bold Mexican San Andres oscuro wrapper. Any fan of Drew Estate's Herrera Estelí lines will definitely enjoy these sticks, as they are also fuller bodied, spicy and leathery but include flavor component of cocoa and espresso from the jet black, oily and toothy wrapper. The presentation is beautiful with a soft box press in a dark box that features the national bird of Nicaragua, the Guardabarranco. The name Norteño comes from a term used to refer to people in the northern part of Nicaragua, which is where Estelí is located.

The Herrera Esteli Norteno Robusto Grande won the 2016 #7 Cigar of the Year from Cigar Aficionado with a 94 rating. Cigar Aficionado noted: "Great construction, however, is not the only hallmark of this cigar. It’s also rich with notes of raw cocoa bean, refined milk chocolate and nougat, yet maintains its earthy qualities without becoming too sweet."
