JC Newman Yagua Robusto
The J.C. Newman Yagua Robusto brings the distinctive Yagua experience to a shorter, thicker 5 x 56 format. Handmade at the J.C. Newman PENSA factory in Nicaragua, it features a dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos, producing a rich, earthy smoking experience with plenty of character.
What makes Yagua truly different is the way it is made. Inspired by a traditional method used on a Cuban tobacco farm in the 1940s, the cigars are rolled without conventional molds or presses and bundled together while still moist inside leaves from the yagua palm. As the cigars rest, the bundle naturally presses them together, giving each cigar its own slightly different, rustic shape. Because the Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper is intentionally underfermented when the cigars are rolled, J.C. Newman ages the finished cigars for a full year before release.
Expect a rich profile of earth, dark chocolate, roasted nuts, dark fruit, pepper and natural tobacco sweetness, with the Broadleaf wrapper adding depth and a slightly rustic character. The Yagua Robusto delivers the unmistakable personality of the original Yagua in a substantial 5 x 56 size.
