The Original Dominican Puro

Nestled in a small valley within a valley in the premier tobacco growing region of the "El Cibao” in the Dominican Republic, lies the estate of Chateau de la Fuente.  Chateau de la Fuente is Arturo Fuente’s own estate that yields 100% of the tobaccos used in its ultra-premium lines: OpusX, ForbiddenX, Angel’s Share, Don Arturo Destino al Siglo, Lost City, Don Carlos Edición de Aniversario.  The red clay, gravely, and mineral-rich soils of the Dominican Republic, once deemed unsuitable for wrapper, had never met with the tenacity and expertise of the Fuente family.  The Fuentes cultivated a glorious Dominican wrapper leaf glorious wrapper leaf that is marbled, rosado and silky.  They proved to the world in the early 1990’s that cigars cultivated and produced outside of Cuba belong with, and perhaps surpass, the finest Cuban cigars in terms of flavor complexity and quality of hand-rolled construction.
