L'Atelier Cote d'Or

Côte d'Or features a small amount of Pelo de Oro tobacco that has been grown in Nicaragua by the Garcia family of My Father Cigars. Pelo de Oro is notoriously difficult to grow, as it's prone to disease and produces low yields, which makes it quite an investment for a tobacco grower. However, it's a tobacco varietal renown by cigarmakers for its combination of strength and sweet flavor. L'Atelier used the name Cote d'Or as a nod to the Burgundy region known for growing Pino Noir, also a very tempermental varietal that is difficult to grow. Côte is wrapped by the same Ecuadoran Sancti Spiritus (hybrid of Criollo and Pelo d'Oro) leaf used in L'Atelier Selection Spéciale series of cigars but the all-Nicaraguan double binder and filler blend has been tweaked to incorporate the Pelo de Oro.

The L'Atelier Cote d'Or is limited to just 1,000 Boxes of 10.
